If there is any evidence as to how high the expectations are for the 2012 Denver Broncos as they head into the postseason, look no further than the media's power rankings of the league as the NFL enters Wild Card Weekend.
The Broncos have won 11 straight games – each of which were by at least seven points – and ended the regular season as the AFC's No. 1 seed with a 13-3 record after beginning the season at just 2-3. The Broncos tied for the best record in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons.
To make expectations even higher, the Broncos – along with their nemesis the New England Patriots – are the favorites by Vegas to win the Super Bowl at 5-to-2 odds. If both the Broncos and the Patriots win their Divisional Round Playoff games, both teams will meet in Denver for a rematch from last year's Divisional Round playoff game. It will be the fourth time Peyton Manning and Tom Brady meet in the playoffs and the third time that they will have met in the AFC Championship game.
Super Bowl fever is running high in Denver. It's now up to the Broncos to avoid a letdown and continue their 11-game winning streak by finishing the season with three more wins to hoist the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in 14 years.Tags: Denver, Denver Broncos, Football, New England Patriots, NFL, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady
