Just a day after being bestowed with yet another award, Peyton Manning can add another one to his collection.
Manning was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for December after leading the Broncos to a 5-0 record, an AFC West Division Crown and the No. 1 seed in the AFC Playoffs during the month. It was the first time since the 1986-87 seasons that the Broncos have clinched back-to-back divisional crowns and the first time since 1998 that the Broncos have entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed.
Peyton completed 123-of-174 passes (70.7%) for 1,399 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions for a 108.4 quarterback rating in December. Manning was also the conference player of the month in October. The award is the sixth time in Peyton's career that he has won the award.
Manning ended the regular season with a 105.8 quarterback rating (second-best in the NFL), 37 touchdowns (third), 4,659 yards (sixth), 68.6% (tied for best) and 400 completions (sixth). The number of touchdowns, the passing yards and the quarterback rating were the second-best of Manning's career.
